The first time I met this Bass the finger board needed correction because the strings were buzzing!?! Oh dear! How do you cut a fingerboard with the scroll in the way at the top? Slowly with a file. Very hard to do, luckily for Herbie not Impossible:)

Of course it was nicknames Frankenstein’s Bass in our workshop because it comes with all the hallmarks of Frankie’s neck bolts, straps and screws.

Over the years I see and appreciate that this bass was meant to be played by Herbie … the two of them make beautiful music without doubt or fail.
