Maggini 3quarter – unknown maker

Description

Description

After a long sleep, at the bottom of a cupboard, this consignment violin has returned for play. The patina (markings and wear that add to its history and use) is neat and beautiful. The double purfling and patternation on the back make it an interesting violin to enjoy looking at when not playing on it.
It did not need much to make it playable, surprising after a long hibernation. With a new set of Ametyst strings on a revised setup – it a fresh brilliant voice again:)

It has a medium to fine grained top with clear even flame on the scroll, back and ribs. Neatly cut by someone who cared. Probably a German made instrument.

A good choice for a discerning learner and passable for a petite person looking for something interesting with a full sound.

Note! Tonality depends setup expertise, string choice, sound post position. These things can be revised and regulated to suit any player.
