Baroque styled cello bow for period music performance or tuition.
Made in the Johannesburg Violin Studio of Svend Noka Christensen; aka, Svend’s Violin.
The styling is uniquely based on high Baroque form. In this case, the frog is influenced by the keel of a ship or, perhaps, the one-half of a whale’s flipper. The motifs cut on the silver button ring are symbolic of accompanying water plants.
Most of his bows are styles and themed to, mostly, something in nature. Sv Christensen feels that the materials ought to represent their origin – Nature.
