Stentor Student II – Half size violins that come from local suppliers or trade in’s.
Once we have received these we go through all of the Setup & Regulation items needed, starting at the pegs and working all the way down to a well fitted button.
In this process we usually change the fittings (Bridge, Sound post, Strings) to ensure that the best of what this type of instrument has inside can come out at the same time as making it as easy as possible to learn with.
The average time spent on one of these is about 3 hours of finesse plus the said change of fittings and strings. This inevitably will make our stock from locally found instruments a bit more pricey than straight off the shelf somewhere else but the difference has been proven worthwhile many times.
The only real difference between a traded in and brand new will be the price and a few marks that come with any living violin.
